So when I came to Oz I joined ff and started the classes which I loved, I never realised exercise could make you so happy! After doing classes ( Body pump , RPM and Attack) , I decided that I wanted to get stronger and leaner and that’s when I met Andrea. In my first week of Andrea’s suggested diet I lost 2 kilos which was pretty impressive. I think a lot of my motivators in working with Andrea is that what she recommends she also does in life. With training its all about consistency and nothing happens quickly. Little changes every week can make into big transformations.
Since training with Andrea and Richard , I have completed quite a few running events, B2B, Sydney City 2 surf , Gold Coast half , Sunshine Coast half and a Jetty 2 Jetty. When I write it down I really can’t believe how much I have achieved from being pretty much stationary to fairly active. It’s not just been about running though, there has been quite a lot of strength training and I feel so strong, I think it’s been key to me not getting any injuries. I have learnt lots of skills how to trash my heart rate in 5 minutes, using kettle bells (one of my fav’s) having the proper technique when using weights. I am so pleased with how far I have come.
I have always felt that I could have chats with Andrea and Richard, ask questions, why we were doing certain things. They were both so approachable and I will miss their constant support. Having a PT for me was a necessity, and not only when I was starting out further along it kept me accountable and no workouts were ever the same! When it comes to training variety is the spice of life!

A few months ago I signed up for the gym after having done pretty much no exercise in at least 10 years. You could say I was a complete blank canvas.
I am a full-time working mum with two young kids and have little time for myself. Exercise and a good diet were pretty low on the priority list. The gym was a bit intimidating and I really didn’t know where to start with my exercise and weight loss program. A few people mentioned the “PT” word, which I thought was just something that only rich and famous people did Anyway, I had a think about it and thought I would see what it was all about. So I was put in contact with Richie and our first session was simply a catch up to discuss my goals and whether we could work together. I knew straight away that we could, and that I was on the path to complete positive change in my whole lifestyle. This was “an investment in my future”.
I trained with Richie twice a week for 8 weeks and the results were amazing. I lost nearly 10 kilos (yes in 8 weeks), my fitness level has grown exponentially and more importantly I now know I can do it on my own! What’s really amazing is that I have integrated regular exercise and great healthy eating into my very busy life and it has become a way of life, which was my main goal. What’s more amazing is I really enjoy it! It has been absolutely all thanks to Richie for his great advice, motivation and support.
My two PT sessions a week were something I really looked forward to. There was always variety, you never quite knew what to expect, you ALWAYS walked away feeling pretty knackered, but always very satisfied that you had pushed further than you thought you could (actually a lot further). About 6 months ago I decided to start at a gym around the corner from work; I have a very busy lifestyle, working full-time with two young children. The gym was close so that worked because convenience is key for me. I particularly wanted to loose weight as over the last couple of years being so busy I had put on a few kilos and wanted to get fit again to keep up with my kids and overall be a healthier fitter person. Although the generic gym classes were good, I was feeling uninspired and knew that I wasn’t trying or pushing myself enough. A friend suggested I try a Personal Trainer and gave me Ritchie’s details.
From the moment I met Ritchie I have felt very comfortable and at ease. Ritchie has helped me achieve results I never thought I would, so far I have shed kilo’s, lost inches, toned up and most importantly…..have become excited about exercise again!!!
Not only has Ritchie trained me, monitored my fitness and motivated me, he has educated me about exercise, muscles, the way your body reacts and recovers, food and nutrition.

Arriving in Brisbane with work and being a member of Fitness First, I decided to seek some personal training sessions.
I was hooked up with richie, he listened to what my training goals were, to lean up and ideally get down to 70kg before Christmas which would mean losing 8 kg in 4 months. As I travel a lot for work and only spend a few months at a time in one city, richie tailored a plan which combined an eating program as well as different workouts with some that can be done out of the gym to suit my transient lifestyle.
After one month of eating correctly and working out I lost 4.5 kg and all body measurements decreased where they should have. I am chuffed with the results and are more than halfway to my goal in the first month with great guidance and advice from richie. I would recommend him to anyone as he not only knows what he is talking about but also follows up on sessions with detailed programs sent directly to your mobile device including descriptions of exercises with pictures so you can recheck to make sure you are doing exercises correctly.
If you want results and like to do varied workouts then richie is the guy.

I’d been working out with a personal trainer for a couple of years, before I went to Fitness First. I was really wary of going to a gym which was part of ‘a chain’ or ‘franchise’, and wanted to make sure that the person I found to train me was actually qualified and experienced and knew what they were talking about. I did NOT want someone who looked twelve telling me what to do 🙂
And then I met Andy… Young, vibrant, full of energy, gorgeous – and focused. On me!
All of a sudden, my half-assed ‘commitment’ to health and fitness was being challenged on a whole range of different levels. She looked at what I was eating – what I was drinking – how much sleep I was getting – how long I was working. And she pulled it to bits. All with a nudge, a poke and a smile. She made me write things down. She asked me questions. She made me push weights and do cardio that I never would have challenged myself to do if I’d been left to my own devices. And I never knew what she was going to throw at me next – no training session was ever the same.
The thing that made all the difference to me was that Andrea was concerned about ME. She encouraged me, helped me work out what I was doing wrong and right, gave me advice, worried about my lack of sleep, and pulled me into line when I thought I could justify bad habits or use ‘I’m stressed at work’ as an excuse for not keeping to the path I’d said that I was committed to. She made me accountable not only to her, but to myself.
Andy is an inspiration. I love my workouts with her, and have increased them recently from 2 times to 3 times per week. It keeps me honest, and keeps my body on the move. And she can make me laugh in the middle of an intense weights session. It sets the tone for the rest of the day.
The other thing I love about Andrea is that she is incredibly generous with her knowledge, and becomes your biggest cheerleader as you are striving to reach certain goals and milestones. Over the past 3 years of training with her, she has helped me lose weight, tone up, and become stronger than I had expected. I have also gained a greater appreciation and desire for a more holistic attitude to health and fitness, and understand now how important elements such as the quality of sleep, stretching and recovery, digestion and stress levels can affect my state of health and wellbeing.
I would recommend Andrea without hesitation to anyone seeking to try a new approach to health and fitness. I had never been ‘sporty’ before I met Andrea. Most of my time was, and much still is, spent with books and computers. But as a result of working with Andy, I am much more active, and I enjoy exercise more than in any other time in my life. I have learned to take my health and fitness seriously now. I don’t take it for granted. And I want it to be even better. Andy is my biggest guide and motivator in making that happen.
